Early Years Lecturer

The vacancy
We are seeking a dedicated Lecturer for our Education & Early Years department. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and assessing childcare programmes, managing a group of students, and contributing to course management and planning activities.
What we're looking for:
- Relevant Education & Childcare qualification.
- Minimum grade C/4 GCSE in Maths and English (or equivalent).
- Experience working with children and young people in early years and education settings.
- Innovative and competent in utilising resources to create a stimulating learning environment.
- Effective in managing behaviour and motivating students.
- Excellent team-working, communication, and organisational skills.
General Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality teaching and tutorials on a range of courses within Education & Early Years.
- Implement innovative teaching techniques, including new technologies, to promote equality and diversity.
- Manage student morale and discipline, ensuring an appropriate learning environment.
- Accurately record and report data, including student progress.
- Maintain teaching files and ensure quality assurance procedures are met.
- Keep up to date with academic and vocational subjects, and maintain links with industry.
- Support safeguarding and equality and diversity initiatives.
- Liaise with course teams, student support teams, and parents/carers.
- Cover classes for absent colleagues when necessary.
- Attend parents’ evenings and promotional activities, including occasional evenings.

The LET’s Bloom Programme aims to connect our experienced and qualified teachers to share best practice and support continued risk-taking as we continue to add depth to our teaching craft. Teachers volunteer on this one year programme, working closely with the Learning Enhancement Team, capturing their experimentation in a journal.
