DN Colleges Group is looking for a dedicated and organised HE Work Placement Co-ordinator to join our team. This role involves supporting the Work Placement Manager and Team Leader in planning and preparing work placements across the College curriculum. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that learners receive an outstanding experience throughout their study by organising and developing new and existing work placements.

This post is working 38 weeks per year, the pro rata salary is £21,450.40 - £22,522.08 per annum. 

Essential Criteria:

  • Good IT skills, including word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Experience of working within the education sector, within higher education is desirable.
  • Ability to establish systems and procedures.
  • Some knowledge of safeguarding.
  • Knowledge of completing risk assessments.
  • Ability to work under pressure at all times.
  • Able to use initiative.
  • Ability to work effectively with employers, students, and staff.
  • Persuasive and diplomatic with a focus on overcoming barriers.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Support the Work Placement Manager and Team Leader in organising and developing work placements.
  • Undertake planning, preparation, and assessment to ensure effective work placement delivery.
  • Organise and attend placement visits to monitor student progress and address any issues.
  • Carry out Health & Safety assessments of work placement settings.
  • Be familiar with the DBS checking process and assist students with form completion.
  • Develop and maintain a database of employer and commercial/industrial links.
  • Handle work placement correspondence and telephone enquiries.
  • Undertake training where appropriate.

The LET’s Bloom Programme aims to connect our experienced and qualified teachers to share best practice and support continued risk-taking as we continue to add depth to our teaching craft. Teachers volunteer on this one year programme, working closely with the Learning Enhancement Team, capturing their experimentation in a journal.
