DN Colleges are seeking a dedicated and experienced Plumbing & Gas Trainer/Assessor to join our team. The successful candidate will support apprentices in plumbing and gas through their workplace assessments, ensuring they meet the required standards for their qualifications. This role is based at Doncaster College but requires travel to various businesses.

Scope and Purpose:
The primary purpose of this role is to support the delivery of our plumbing programmes by internally verifying student work assessed by tutors and assessors. You will engage with employers, provide guidance to learners, and ensure the effective delivery of teaching and assessment in line with college policies and external requirements.

Essential Criteria:

  • Level 3 Plumbing and Heating qualification
  • A1 and V1 Awards
  • GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above (or equivalent)
  • Relevant industrial experience
  • Understanding of apprenticeship frameworks
  • Experience in gas installation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate and inspire apprentices
  • Commitment to equality of opportunity
  • Proven organisational and administrative skills
  • Evidence of continued professional development

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Engage with employers to develop relationships and promote our training and development offer.
  • Provide pre-course and on-course guidance to support learners through to successful completion.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver effective teaching sessions, adhering to college policies and external requirements.
  • Ensure learners are enrolled, managed, and supported in line with college and funding body requirements.
  • Conduct reviews, assessments, and verification tasks to ensure timely completion of qualifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of learner registration, attendance, and progress.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to quality assurance processes.
  • Support curriculum development initiatives and evaluate course materials.
  • Undertake continuous professional development and participate in performance reviews.
